Exclusive | Henderson’s trophy tower to host galas, mega events in Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s efforts to attract family offices, fintech start-ups and global financial leaders to the city are giving some of the city’s landlords a big helping hand, boosting income from hosting events and conferences, while lifting hotel occupancy and tourism receipts.

Henderson Land can vouch for that. The 6,800-sq ft rooftop banquet ballroom at the 36-storey The Henderson in Central will host the gala dinners for the Hong Kong FinTech Week, the 53rd Hong Kong Arts Festival Fundraising and the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo and Business of Design Week 2024.

Top athletes from the University of Hong Kong will also hold a meet-and-greet event there. The gala dinner of the Global Leaders Summit in November, organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, has also been pre-booked there, according to a source.

Winning the top-notch events will add lustre to the Zaha Hadid-designed property, “which has started to bring in rental income,” the company said in its recent financial report to shareholders. Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet will occupy 12,000 sq ft on an entire floor later this year, according to a previous statement.
