ZDNET’s key takeaways
- Blink just announced five new cameras, ranging from $50 to $200.
- Two extended-range cameras reach up to 7,000 feet in open areas.
- The lineup also includes Blink’s first 4K wired camera.
2026 has been a year of big upgrades for Amazon’s Blink line of easy-to-install home surveillance cameras, first with 2K resolution and now with 4K and powerful extended-range models that challenge what we can expect from the devices.

The five new Blink cameras coming to market are the Blink Frontier XR+, Blink Outdoor 2K XR+, Blink Mini 4K+, Blink Pan-Tilt Zoom 2K+, and Blink Spotlight 2K+, filling out its catalog with cameras designed for very large outdoor properties. All the new cameras are available for preorder starting October 21st.
The Blink Mini 4K+ is an $80 wired security camera built for indoor and outdoor use, and the first 4K wired camera from Blink. It can capture a 115-degree field of view, support dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and feature two-way audio.
These features are a big upgrade over the original Blink Mini, the Mini 2, and the newer Mini 2K+. The Blink Mini 4K+ is the category’s flagship this year, finally bringing extraordinary resolution to what was an HD camera just a year ago.
New extended-range cameras
Blink is also entering a new category with two extended-range camera models: the rugged Frontier XR+ and the Blink Outdoor 2K XR+. Both are designed to cover large properties where the Sync Module may be up to a couple thousand feet away.

The Frontier XR+ is designed as a trail cam, perfect for remote areas and large properties. This $200 camera comes with the Sync Module XR+ and can reach connectivity to up to 7,000 feet with a clear line of sight. This camera isn’t designed to be used solely as a trail cam, however. It can surveil expansive, distant areas, such as gates or cattle areas.
At $150, the Blink Outdoor 2K XR+ also includes the Sync Module XR+ and can reach up to 2,700 feet with a clear line of sight.
Blink also announced a new Spotlight Cam 2K+ for $110, which is a 2K-resolution camera with four LED spotlights to illuminate dark areas. The camera is battery-operated, making it easy to install wherever you want without wiring or plugging it in.
Even with a new extended-range pair of security cameras, the biggest hardware upgrade is the Blink Mini Pan Tilt 2K+, which costs $50. Instead of the clunkier pan-tilt Blink Mini from years past, the 2K+ is compact and sleek, with 350-degree pan and 115-degree tilt.
This PTZ camera is also weatherproof, so you can use it outside with a Blink Camera Outdoor Adapter.
