SM Entertainment is holding its first-ever global search for new girl group members, announced the South Korean entertainment company in a press release on Monday (Jun 3).

The agency is behind some of the biggest names in K-pop including aespa, Shinee, Super Junior, EXO, NCT Dream and Girls’ Generation.

For the first round, applicants must submit a self-introduction, where they share their name, age, hobbies and talents. Besides that, applicants also need to talk about their previous audition experiences and how long they’ve been trained vocally and in dance. Do note that make-up and filters are not allowed.

Applicants also need to film themselves singing a capella and dancing.

For the vocal portion, applicants are to choose one of the following songs: Atlantis Princess by BoA, Merry-Chri by BoA, All About You by Taeyeon, Bad Boy by Red Velvet, When This Rain Stops by Wendy, Spicy by aespa and Better Things by aespa.

Likewise, there are assigned songs for the dance portion. Applicants are to choose among Better by BoA, Into The New World by Girls’ Generation, Feel The Rhythm by Red Velvet and Illusion by aespa.

Those who pass the first round will be invited for an in-person second round. Selected applicants will be notified individually of the date and location for the audition.

Finalists will have the opportunity to debut as members of SM’s new girl group. For more information, visit the official Instagram page.
